Roles & Responsibilities
The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of laundry operations. Key duties include:
- Overseeing daily laundry operations, ensuring timely processing of linens, garments, and other items while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Implementing and monitoring workplace safety protocols to minimize hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Training, mentoring, and evaluating laundry staff to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Managing inventory of laundry supplies and chemicals, placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Scheduling staff shifts and workflow efficiently to maximize productivity and meet peak operational demands.
- Conducting regular maintenance checks on laundry equipment and coordinating repairs to prevent downtime.
- Monitoring performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensuring proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding techniques to maintain fabric quality and extend the lifespan of linens and garments.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of laundry services in line with service agreements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in laundry operations or management are an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in laundry operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in hospitality or healthcare industries preferred, with understanding of specific laundry requirements.
- Proficient in the use of commercial laundry machinery and chemicals, with knowledge of fabric care best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, train, and motivate staff effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact efficiently with staff and other departments.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
