Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Laundry Attendant to join a luxury household or hospitality environment in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, reliable, and skilled in handling laundry operations with the highest standards of care and confidentiality.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and process laundry and linens according to fabric type, care labels, and household procedures.
- Operate washing, drying, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently, including steam presses and specialist machines.
- Handle delicate, bespoke, and high-value garments using appropriate cleaning methods; coordinate with external specialist cleaners when necessary.
- Ensure excellent presentation of laundered items: folding, steaming, ironing, and preparing garments and linens for storage or use.
- Maintain accurate laundry logs, inventory records, and tracking for personal clothing, household linens, and serviceable items.
- Manage cleaning supplies and laundry consumables; report shortages and ensure correct storage of chemicals in line with COSHH guidance.
- Report any garment damage, stains, or maintenance issues to household management and follow agreed escalation procedures.
- Keep laundry and wardrobe areas clean, organized, and compliant with health & safety standards.
- Support household events and ad‑hoc requirements, ensuring timely turnaround of required items.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 1 year experience in professional laundry, dry cleaning, housekeeping, or similar environments; private household or luxury hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Practical knowledge of fabric care, stain removal techniques, and garment finishing.
- Experience using washing machines, tumble dryers, irons, steamers, and pressing equipment; training in specialist machinery is an advantage.
- Basic record-keeping skills and strong attention to detail to manage inventories and laundry logs.
- Awareness of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning chemicals; formal training is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions and household procedures.
- Professional, discreet, and respectful of household privacy and confidentiality.
- Organized, reliable, physically fit, and able to perform manual tasks including lifting, carrying, and prolonged standing.
- Flexible and adaptable, willing to assist with occasional out-of-hours requirements or event support.
- Friendly, cooperative, and able to work as part of a small household team.
