The Outlet Cashier is responsible for ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient handling of guest billing, payments, credit, and cash transactions at F&B outlets and bars, while maintaining compliance with hotel financial policies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Cash Handling & Billing
- Accurately process guest bills and payments through POS systems.
- Safeguard cash, credit card machines, and other payment instruments.
- Collect assigned cash float and verify amounts as per float sheet.
- Apply discounts, promotions, or vouchers only with proper authorization.
- Ensure voids or corrections are approved and documented.
- Room posting: verify guest name, room number, and signature accurately.
- Never leave cash drawer unattended and do not share POS login credentials.
Financial & Audit Compliance
- Comply with hotel financial and audit policies.
- Reconcile cash, card, and room charge totals with POS report.
- Close POS shift and generate required reports.
- Coordinate with Front Office and Food & Beverage departments.
- Assist in internal auditing of House Funds and other internal controls.
Technical & Operational Duties
- Ensure receipt printer, POS terminal, and payment devices are functioning properly.
- Maintain complete knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by the Finance department.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in cash handling.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow-up tasks independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel financial data.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work cohesively with other departments.
- Proficient in English; fluency in additional languages preferred.
- Technical skills: ability to work with spreadsheet software, POS systems, and cash reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an outlet cashier.
- High school diploma or related college courses.
- Experience in a luxury hotel or F&B environment preferred.
- Excellent numerical and organizational skills.
