Job Overview
Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits (CGHB) continues to expand across the Middle East, leveraging its expertise to provide premium healthcare solutions. We are seeking a Senior Risk & Underwriter to join our Middle East Underwriting team in Dubai.
This role involves analyzing the market, developing pricing strategies, and assessing financial risks for group healthcare products. The position is challenging, requiring a comprehensive understanding of business operations and collaboration with multiple departments. Over time, you will develop sophisticated analytical tools to underwrite group healthcare risks, enhancing profitability and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex pricing models for international group underwriters.
- Streamline financial metrics and reports prepared by the underwriting team.
- Evaluate, price, and modify plan designs for renewals and new business on large corporate accounts.
- Collaborate with client managers and brokers to meet expectations on product and pricing.
- Manage account portfolios to balance profitability and revenue targets.
- Analyze trends and patterns to recommend changes to benefits.
- Educate sales and client management teams on technical aspects of underwriting.
- Provide clear guidance on risk management and cost control options.
- Stay aware of market trends, competition, and client needs.
Education & Experience
Required:
- 2–3 years’ experience in insurance, finance, underwriting, actuarial, or data analytics.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial, or related field).
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Basic programming skills (VB Script or similar).
- Ability to query large datasets using SQL.
- Exposure to Tableau or other data visualization tools is an advantage.

- Strong process improvement, modeling, and reporting skills.
- High level of numeracy and accuracy.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership, manage time effectively, and deliver under pressure.
