About the Role
Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits (CGHB) continues to expand across the Middle East, leveraging its expertise to provide world-class healthcare solutions. We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Middle East Underwriting team based in Dubai.
As an Underwriter, you will analyze market trends, develop pricing strategies, and assess financial risks across our corporate healthcare products. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across departments, gaining deep insights into the business while contributing directly to the company’s profitability and growth. Over time, you will develop innovative analytical tools to enhance risk management and increase revenue potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain advanced pricing models for international group underwriting.
- Streamline financial metrics and reports prepared by the underwriting team.
- Evaluate, price, and modify plan designs for renewals and new corporate clients in compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with client managers and brokers to meet client expectations on products and pricing.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts, balancing profitability with revenue targets.
- Analyze results to identify trends and make recommendations for future benefit designs.
- Work closely with sales and client management to improve understanding of technical aspects of underwriting.
- Maintain market awareness, including competitor analysis and understanding client needs.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years in insurance, finance, underwriting, actuarial, or data analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or similar) preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Basic programming knowledge (VB Script or equivalent).
- Ability to query large data sets using SQL.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus.
Capabilities:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong process improvement and modeling/reporting skills.
- Proactive, organized, and able to take ownership of tasks.
